Back Story
Hello, my name is Mark Campbell, and I’m the founder of Ethical Disruption.
I’m a journalist, a nature lover, a vegan, a father, and someone who got tired of watching the most important story of our time get communicated so poorly, it has failed to move the dial.
The oceans are still warming, the insects are still disappearing, plastic pollution has permeated every part of our bodies - and you can judge clearly by the political parties people are putting into power - the dire warnings and frightening facts are failing to be understood.
This publication is independent. There is no publisher. There are no advertisers. There is no board, no backer, no commercial pressure applied to the editorial decisions. I am one journalist doing this full time because I believe it needs to exist.
Everything here is free to read. If you think this kind of independent journalism is important, you can support it here.
If you just want to read and share, that matters too. Either way - welcome. There’s a lot to cover, and not much time to do it in.
Why Am I Doing This?
I have four children, and one baby grandson, and it terrifies me to think of the extreme weather conditions, the pollution, the lack of opportunities they will almost certainly all have to live with.
When things get really bad in about 20 years’ time, my own life, here in the UK or wherever I may be, will no doubt be made uncomfortable through extreme heat or cold. My children will face decades of this being the norm.
When it’s time for me to depart this wonderful, stupid planet, I want my children to at least be able to say: “Dad tried his best to warn and educate people. Dad tried his best to encourage others to live less harmful lives.”
While I’ve always campaigned on environmental issues, written about them, and assisted eco-conscious companies, it has always been on the side of regular journalism and PR that paid the wages.
Now I’ve decided to go all-in on communicating the most important information that exists. And I’ll be relying on support from people and businesses that passionately buy into the mission, and want us to work together.
Mass disruption is taking effect. Our lives are changing. Things will never be the same again.
The science has never been clearer about climate breakdown and nature destruction. It’s measured. It’s visible.
Artificial Intelligence is about to shake up people’s lives like they can’t imagine. This will also affect the course of politics, which in turn affects most things on our planet.
Living an ethical, environmentally-friendly lifestyle will have to become a necessity, not a luxury, if we are to tackle the tsunami of threats heading our way.
If improved communication on the climate, nature and pollution emergencies is important to you, please support independent journalism.
Ethical Disruption believes that all information relating to the world’s biggest story should be free for everyone to read.
What you’d be helping to fund is the time to allow me to create it, and also my independence to be able to cover the important stories honestly.
You can support my work with a single or monthly donation. Thank you.
